With the unfortunate Pro Shop fire incident a few weeks ago, several people and organisations reached out to the Australasian Golf Club to offer their support and assistance – one of those was Golf Australia.
A meeting was setup between Sam Kindlen, the Senior Participation Officer, AGC President Tony Bromilow and Manager Mark Vallance to discuss the incident and how Golf Australia may be of assistance.
“Sam was great, he reached out via email the day of the incident and we had a meeting setup for that same week,” Manager Mark Vallance said.
The focus of the assistance turned to how they could help us replace some of the practice and hire equipment that had been lost in the fire with Sam confirming he’d investigate Golf Australia’s own stock and that of other golf clubs.
“I’m happy to report that last week, Sam dropped off some equipment that gets us well on the way to replacing some of what we’ve lost,” Mark Vallance said.
The new equipment that has been dropped off includes –
- Two complete, brand new, junior golf club sets, with bags,
- Approximately half a dozen junior putters,
- Approximately half a dozen junior wedges/irons,
- Four single user practice tee mats
“I’d like to thank Sam and Golf Australia for their assistance in replacing some of our losses and commitment to continue to search for equipment for us, it’s greatly appreciated, and we look forward to continuing to work with them into the future.” Mark Vallance said.
