Senior Pennant End of Season

While the Handicap Pennant season is still underway the Senior Pennant season has finished for the Australasian Golf Club team, with the last game played 4/4/24.

The team very nearly made the final, however only missed out by one game on 4/4/24 – come the end of the “regular” season, the results for the team was two halved, two loss and two wins.

“I would like to thank all players that played throughout the season and the non-player members that helped out,” team Captain Ken Hawkins said.

“Thanks goes to John Martin who prepared the food on our home games and to David (Tiny) Taufale, as well, for his work marshaling the games.
“Well done to all players throughout the Senior Pennant season, looking forward to next season.”

Senior Pennant Round 3 Review

The Senior Pennant season is underway for 2024 and the Australasian Golf Club Senior team had their first home game last Thursday, 7th March, after their fixtured first round at home was cancelled due to heat a couple of weeks ago.

The team for the day was made up of Ken Hawkins (Team Captain), Bill Patterson, Clinton Connolly, Ken Hanna, Paul Cooper and Wayne Holland.

They came up against the team from Ringwood and after some tough back-and-forth throughout the day, came away with the 3.5 – 2.5 win.

“It was a very competitive fixture and a great effort by everybody to come away with the win,” Team Captain Ken Hawkins said.

“Ringwood played some great shots, seemed to hit every fairway and were playing well around the greens. They had also had nothing but praise for the condition of the course,” Ken said.

The team currently sits in 4th position on the ladder after this win and this Thursday travels down the freeway to Eastern Sward for their next round.

“It’s always good to play at Eastern Sward and we’re still tossing around ideas about the roster for the team on the day hoping to get another win,” Ken said.
